China Issued Travel Advisory For US After Chinese Citizens Interrogation Search and Harassment in US Airports


US-China Tension: The matter of conflict between America and China is not hidden from anyone. However, tension between the two countries has been increasing for some time now, the direct impact of which is visible on Chinese citizens traveling to America. This is the reason why now China has had to issue a travel advisory for those who are going to travel to America. They have been told to be prepared for all possible troublesome situations including searches.

Actually, China’s Foreign Ministry has issued a travel advisory related to America on its WeChat account. It is being claimed in the Chinese media that when Chinese students and company employees reach America, airport officials are interrogating them excessively. It is also being said that Chinese citizens have faced harassment at American airports. Only after this, a travel advisory has been issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, so that people remain cautious.

Generally, travel advisory is issued only when there is an epidemic or there is a possibility of violence in any country. But China, troubled by the treatment of citizens, has issued a travel advisory. However, China has been forced to take this step due to the treatment being meted out to its citizens.

Chinese citizens were advised to contact the embassy

According to the report of South China Morning Post, it has been said in the travel advisory that the citizens who are facing problems in America should immediately contact the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General. Recently, a Chinese student doing PhD in Biological Sciences was deported after reaching America for studies. His entire body was examined and he was kept in isolation for 12 hours. This type of incident has happened with many Chinese students.

America is showing cold war mentality: China

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning criticized the US for disrupting exchanges between the two countries. He termed America’s actions as Cold War mentality. Similarly, another spokesperson of the ministry, Wang Wenbin, accused America of negatively impacting academic research and weapons production and bilateral relations.

Jinping made a plan for American students

Even though there is tension between the two countries, China and America have shown interest in promoting education and cultural exchange. During his visit to America in November, President Xi Jinping announced a plan to invite 50,000 Americans to study in China in the next five years. China has also talked about student exchange with America and increasing cooperation between the universities of the two countries.
